Pantanassa is a beach just 12 km from Heraklion. The Name of the monastery Pantanassa was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The monastery was built in 1950 and is a monastery for nuns.
We will make a short stop so you can take a look at the Venetian ruins that form the beach Palekastro.
Next stop Rogdia, a small village, with narrow streets and small taverns. From here you have a beautiful view of the bay of Heraklion.
We wil then head for Ligaria which is a place that gives natural protection from bad weather and wind. After that we visit the village Agia Pelagia which extends over several bays. Here we have the possibility to try various water sports.
